On the third floor of IKDC, an exhibition is currently underway featuring projects created by first-year students in the Bachelor’s program in Industrial Design. Through the course “Industrial Design Project A”, they have worked on designing wall-mounted storage units.

Course coordinator Olof Kolte explains:

The students were tasked with designing a storage unit made of steel wire (2–6 mm) using spot welding as the joining technique, and they were allowed to use a maximum of three screws to attach the unit to the wall. In addition, they had to create a packaging concept with accompanying graphics.

The goal of the course was to carry out a product development process from idea to finished product and to describe the process in a project report.

Curious about what the design students’ first creative project looks like? Don’t miss the exhibition on the 3rd floor of IKDC, running until May 16, 2025.
