Bongo is a fun game concept for children. The main idea behind this project is to encourage teamwork through play and interaction. Creating a synergy between two players and the product. This project was carried out in close collaboration with children from different day-care institutions in Lund.
The components for Bongo are net and a ball. At least four players (2+2) are needed to play it. The game is simple - the ball is thrown with the net between two teams inside an area or a field. Rules for the game can vary. The ball can't touch the ground or you can't let go of the net. The players can decide how the points are collected.
Team members have to communicate with each other where to move for the best catch and how they throw the ball back. To make the game interesting more teams can join in and divide into two groups of teams. Also the field can be extended to a larger area.
Tests have shown that the ball can fly really far. The level of difficulty increases when smaller ball is used. For beginners a volleyball sized ball is recommended and for the pros tennis ball is the best.
